New Member Education

At CIB, every new analyst participates in a 10-week intensive education program designed to build a strong foundation in markets, investing, and finance. Taught by experienced members, new member education equips analysts with the fundamentals of investing and prepares them for careers on both the sell-side and buy-side. We view our analysts as our greatest asset, and their first semester is dedicated to developing the skills needed to excel in finance.

Hear From Our VPs of Education

"CIB’s Fundamental Education program provides comprehensive training for students pursuing careers on both the buy side and sell side. Our investing and valuation framework is grounded in the principles of Expectations Investing, a methodology also employed in Point72’s Academy. The curriculum covers a broad range of topics, including accounting, debt analysis, mergers and acquisitions, three-statement modeling, discounted cash flow (DCF) and other valuation techniques, equity research and stock pitching, as well as professional development. It is designed to prepare students for both interviews and real-world applications, our program is delivered by instructors dedicated to maximizing each student’s potential."

"CIB’s Quant Education program is a semester-long curriculum covering key concepts essential to a career in quantitative finance. Lessons cover topics ranging from probability and statistics to stochastic calculus: concepts that underpin quantitative modeling. The program also introduces students to the fundamentals of financial markets, including options theory, market microstructure, and electronic trading infrastructure. Through project-based learning, participants apply these skills to real-world scenarios, gaining hands-on experience with the full quantitative algorithm lifecycle, from idea generation to backtesting and deployment."
